Center Mounted Screen for Fanatec CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3
Have you ever wanted Fanatec to make an affordable wheel with a screen? Well so far it has not happened but now you can turn your Fanatec CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3 V2 into a screen capable wheel without losing any functionality.
Our quick detach screen comes with everything you will need (except the star bit). Screen attaches via two existing front screws. Simply loosen, then slip them into the two openings on the screen and tighten right back down. Optionally we also include a strip of double sided 3M tape for a more permanent mount, but it is not necessary. To power the screen and send it data we include a coiled USB A to USB C cable which attaches to your PC and the other end to the screen. 3M Cable Guides are also included to route the cable as desired to the rear and take the stress off the USB C connection.
Once the screen is installed Sim Hub (free software) is used to gather data from the game to the wheel via a dash format of your choice (we recommend Lovely Dash). Sim Hub is configured for Vocor screens, which is what we use, so you simply choose your dash and how it behaves. The screen is also a touch screen so you can quickly cycle through different dashe options on the fly.
The center mounted screen adds another level of immersion and fills an empty space on the wheel. It also covers the Mclaren logo making the wheel more universal and can be used to display your own logo or name. It also provides data that might not be available in your given sim user interface right in front of your face, plus it looks super high tech.
Tips
Loop the cable once around the wheel shaft to take some of the stress from the USB C plug.
Once every couple of uses unplug and unwind the cable as Fanatec wheels will sometimes make an extra rotation when powering on adding extra unnecessary loops.
Use the included cable guides to further secure the cable as needed to minimize connection issues.
