22" Wheel Accent Vinyl Decals for Rivian R1T/R1S
Ever wanted to make your 22" wheel a little more wild and crazy or just give it a little something extra? Our vinyl accent decals will do just that, they fit into the recessed area between the raised and rounded pentagon and trapezoid and fill that space with color, or just a subtle gunmetal or matte black contrast, depending on your choice. We are also open to doing custom color projects, just reach out. Because they siut below the main surface they are safe from scratching and snagging.
Installation is very straightforward. Clean the wheels with rubbing/isopropyl alcohol and a soft rag. Spray the surface with water mixed with just a drop of dish soap and apply the decal into the recess. The soap and water will allow the decal to slide around freely for easier alignment. Once everything lines up press down with a squeegee on the flat areas and your fingers around the more intricate parts. After everything is initially tacked down let the sun do its work, simply allowing the decals to dry overnight will help them adhere and will dry out the edges which then can be gently rolled down anywhere there is overhang, a hair dryer or heat gun can be used to speed up this process (see the video above for a similar install). The optional thin strips can be dry applied. Start in one of the recessed areas where the inlay ends and slowly press down on the strip as you work it around the outermost edge of the wheel, repeat this 5 times overlapping each new strip to the previous.
The vinyl is automotive and "is expected to last 5-7 years outdoors" according to the manufacturer. It can be washed and is 3.9mils thick. Kit includes a 22 pc decal set which is enough to cover all 4 wheels with a couple additional pieces for any future scuff, installation errors or cutting misalignments. Also available is the spare tire inclusive 27pc kit which will be plenty to cover all 5 wheels.
Tips
Start on the top most spoke, then drive the car forward or backwards so you are always working on the top spoke and not fighting gravity.
Heat is your friend for the outer edges, it might take several passes/days in between as the vinyl conforms to the new shape.
Rubbing alcohol can help adhere vinyl in seconds by just misting under the part that won't stick and pressing down for 20-30 seconds.
